The protagonist of this movie is a woman with 'idiopathic hirsuitism' (inexplicable hairiness). Before the she triumphs in the film, she has all her hair permanently removed by electrolysis (see below). A woman can't be powerful in film unless she's conventionally sexy/'female'.
